Michael Scott Freese passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2016 at the age of 57 from heart failure. Mike was the oldest of 2 children. He was born at Itazuke Air Force Base, Fukuoka, Japan on December 30, 1958 to Jack Freese and Mary Gibbons.

Mike was an amazingly generous person and very talented in so many ways. He had a very successful career and was the Senior Director at Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Portland, Oregon at the time of his death. Previously he worked in a variety of executive leadership positions, including Senior...

Michael Scott Freese passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2016 at the age of 57 from heart failure. Mike was the oldest of 2 children. He was born at Itazuke Air Force Base, Fukuoka, Japan on December 30, 1958 to Jack Freese and Mary Gibbons.

Mike was an amazingly generous person and very talented in so many ways. He had a very successful career and was the Senior Director at Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Portland, Oregon at the time of his death. Previously he worked in a variety of executive leadership positions, including Senior Vice President for Saber Government Solutions, and State Printer, Deputy State Chief Information Officer, and interim Chief Information Officer for the State of Oregon.

Mike loved to play his guitars and was a natural musician. He was a man of many musical talents and could pick up any instrument and just start playing it. Mike developed a passion for cooking at a young age and the family always looked forward to the dish Mike was bringing to our family get-togethers. He also developed a great amount of knowledge of fine wines and had a collection he loved to share with this family. Along with cooking Mike also enjoyed weight lifting, working out, bicycling, sailing, reading, philosophy, culture, science, humanities and leadership.

Mike is survived by his mother Mary Gibbons of Vancouver, WA; his father Jack Freese of Greeley, CO; sister Lori Osterday & husband Royal of Kila, MT and her children Trevor Manners & son Ryley, Kevin Freese, wife Trina and their children Ethan and Ariella, Shane Freese & wife Dannah; Stepbrother Michael Gibbons & wife Diedre; Nieces Tressa Kirilloff, husband Boris and daughter Karleigh, Mimosa Constans, husband Jake and their daughters Jocelyn, Jayleen & Janessa; Aunts Jane Carlile, Kathy Whitten & husband Ed; Stepdaughters Michelle Pope, husband Andrew and daughter Ainslie, Sarah Lacie, husband Ben and soon to be son Joc as well as many other friends and co-workers.

Mike, you will forever be in our hearts and we will love and cherish your memory forever. Taken much too soon, your time here on earth was a blessing to us all that knew and loved you! Rest in peace dear son, brother, uncle and friend!
